Sensory-Friendly Time: Slimy, Squishy Sensory Bags

Crafters, fidgeters, and sensory-play enthusiasts ages 2 and up.
Maybe you love slime, but hate the mess. Or maybe you’re not a big slime fan, but like the soothing play it provides. Either way, this craft activity is for you! We’ll have the glitter, beads, liquid, and bags – you bring the creativity. A little mixing here, and a drop of food coloring there, and you’ll be heading home with two you-made fidgets!
For this activity offered during our weekly Sensory-Friendly Times, we will guide Campers and their families through the project step-by-step and there will be extra time and materials on hand to create with. Find out more about CAMP’s Sensory-Friendly programming here.
Kids will put pom poms, googly eyes, and water beads into a clear plastic bag.
Next kids will drop glitter and food coloring into the bag, followed by clear glue and a liquid activator that turns the mixture into slime.
Next a Counselor will assist with vacuum-sealing the bag so that kids can take home their own sensory bag.
Lastly, as an optional step, kids can decorate the outside of their Sensory Bags with tape, extra googly eyes or stickers!
