Once you know how to look, Dad jokes are everywhere. And designer Irina Blok has gotten really good at finding them and capturing them in funny, punny illustrations that she posts on her Instagram page. Her series, which she calls “Pretty Bad Puns,” has been a lighthearted way of keeping herself distracted during a difficult year. She takes inspiration from looking at words, phrases, or everyday objects and then using her illustration skills to bring out a hidden meaning.
Once you’ve enjoyed all these illustrations, take a look around your own house and see if you can pick out some objects that could have a different, punny, meaning if you think about them in a new way, then try to bring out that meaning with a drawing of your own! And be sure to follow Irina Blok on Instagram for more delightful pun-spiration.
