Build this little boat and finally fulfill your sea-faring fantasies! With a magnet hidden in its hull, your magnetic boat craft can navigate even the roughest seas ... or your kitchen table.

What You’ll Need:

Cardstock

Straws
-
Tape
-
Scissors
-
Magnets
-
Pencil

Paint & Paintbrush

Glue
1. Tape two straws together. You can also use a popsicle stick if you have them.

2. Tape the magnet to one end of the straws or popsicle stick.

3. Carefully trace and cut a piece of cardstock into the shape of a boat and a sail.

4. Decorate your sailboat base however you like!

5. To make your mast, use scissors to split the end of a straw.

The cut should be about an inch long.
6. Flair out the cut end and tape the flaps down to your sailboat base.

7. Tape the other magnet to the top of your sailboat base.

Tape it down just in front of the mast on the top of the ship.
8. Tape the sail to the mast.

9. Decorate the sailboat deck by lining it with straws.

10. Set sail!

Place the sailboat on a flat, thin surface and use your magnetic wand under the surface to move the boat around.
