2020 made it all too easy to miss some of the awesome shows and movies that made it to streaming services.

It’s early yet, but I think I’m going to shoot for the understatement of the year by saying that there was a lot going on in 2020! Having so much happening at once, it was super easy to miss some of the awesome shows and movies that made it to streaming services. Here’s a list of everything that flew under the radar in 2020 that your family will love!

1. “Super Monsters: the New Class”

Join the pre-school hijinks in the Purple Room at Pitchforks Pines! This show is like a mash-up of X-Men and Monster High but with adorable baby monsters! The baby monsters learn to use their powers at a special preschool for baby monsters and this installment on the Netflix Jr. imprint is all about a new class of characters joining the established cast. (Ages 1-4)

2. “Earth to Ned”

Ned is the alien talk show host that you never knew that you needed in your life! Ned has come from the stars of outer-space to interview the stars of earth! Disney+ magic and Jim Henson Studio are in full effect — so you know this show is out of this world! (All Ages)

3. “Ask the StoryBots”

StoryBots are here to learn, to adventure, and to answer the questions that kids want answers to! This hilarious slapstick cartoon is laugh-out-loud funny and super fun! You and your kiddo will love this series from our friends at Netflix! (All ages)

4. “Hilda”

Have you ever wanted to have blue hair and go on magical adventures to mystical lands? Hilda is just the blue-haired adventurer you’ve been waiting for! Vicariously explore elf-riddled woods, warrior-laden lands, and seas filled with monsters and pirates! Season two just came out on Netflix — so plenty of adventures await! (Age 5+)

5. “Helpsters”

Cody and the Helpsters LOVE to help! This show is produced by the team behind Sesame Street and your kiddos will love the vibrant characters and cool tunes. Catch this crew on AppleTV. (Age1-5)

6. “Animaniacs”

Yakko, Wakko, and Dot are back and they have nice new contracts! See what the wheel of morality has in store on this rebooted ‘90s classic, now available on Hulu! (All ages)

7. “The Last Kids on Earth”

Based on the best selling series of illustrated novels The Last Kids on Earth, the Netflix animated series of the same name follows the adventures of Jack and his classmates as they fight off monsters and build a community in a post-apocalyptic world! Don’t worry, this series leans into classic cartoon character foibles and isn’t focused on more adult horror. (6+)

8. “She-Ra and the Princesses of Power”

This is not the She-Ra from your childhood, but in the best possible way! Princess Adora discovers the power sword of Grayskull and becomes She-Ra — a powerful warrior princess to lead the Princess Alliance against Lord Hordak and the Evil Horde! You and your kiddos will love this brilliant modern take from the folks at Dreamworks and Netflix! (Ages 5+)

9. “A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon”

Shaun the sheep is back in a brand new stop-motion adventure! When an alien crash lands on Mossy Bottom Farm, it’s up to Shaun and the gang to get the alien back home without being captured by the authorities! (All ages)

10. “Bill & Ted Face the Music”

When we last saw Bill and Ted they’d had an excellent adventure through time, nailed their history presentation, defeated the Reaper, and won the San Dimas Battle of the Bands! They were primed to fulfill their destiny of uniting the world through music — but what happens when you’re middle-aged, have a family of your own, and you still haven’t done what you were destined to do? Find out when Bill and Ted face the music! (8+)

11. “Amphibia”

When thirteen-year-old Anne Boonchuy finds a magical treasure chest that accidentally transports her to the frog filled world of Amphibia, it’s up to her to find her footing and discover the meaning of real friendship! (All ages)

The classic sketch comedy show for kidz has returned with a brand new cast of kid comedians and cameos from your favorite cast members from the original run! Your kiddo will love characters like Detective Dan, the Loud Librarian, and the lively world of Good Burger and you’ll love the big time rush of Nick nostalgia! (5+)
