Sick Of The Same Old Holidays? Why Not Make Up Your Own!

Are you ready for this year’s Everything Day celebration?

Matt Harvey · about 1 year ago

Thanks for checking out our product recommendations! Just a heads-up, Camp may make some money if you shop from any of the external links on this page. Pricing and availability may have changed since this page was published.

Are you ready for this year’s Everything Day celebration? The good news is that it isn’t too late to obtain your Everything Day supplies, cue up your favorite Everything Day jams, and celebrate with Everyday Earl and the Grilled Cheese Gang!

What’s that? You’ve never heard of Everything Day? That’s because we made it up! Making up your own holidays is a great way to add excitement to an average day and build unique traditions for you and your family!

Follow this easy to use template to make your own holiday:

1. Choose What You Want To Celebrate

Giphy / BagelNet

It can be absolutely anything! Did you have a great bagel today? Celebrate Bagels! Since every day presents something to celebrate, we chose “everything” as the subject of our holiday!

2. Name Your Holiday

Name your holiday after what you’re celebrating! We chose to celebrate everything, so our holiday is called Everything Day!

3. Choose How You’re Going To Celebrate

This is where you can get creative with your holiday. Do you celebrate by doing a silly dance? Maybe you make cards to give to loved ones. What if you did both? What are the decorations like? It’s entirely up to you! On Everything Day, we announce something we’re grateful for every day and we do a silly dance — we do this all day.

4. Choose A Traditional Holiday Food

No holiday is complete without a traditional food. With that in mind, you can choose anything you want! We love grilled cheese sandwiches, so we picked grilled cheese as our traditional Everything Day food.

5. Make Up Songs

You can make up your own songs to help celebrate your holiday! They can be silly or sentimental. If you don’t want to make up a song, you can choose some songs and make a playlist of songs that you already love!

Here’s a song I made up for Everything Day!

6. Characters

Does your holiday have characters? For Everything Day, we made up Everyday Earl and the Grilled Cheese Gang. Everyday Earl is a mechanic who wears blue coveralls and a green bandana. Everyday Earl loves to dance and party, and he likes to shout “Every Day” before bursting into dance. The Grilled Cheese Gang are a group of misfits who will steal your cheese if you go to bed on Everything Day without announcing your favorite cheese to have in a grilled cheese sandwich.

7. Choose a Date

Now that you have a new holiday to celebrate, you have to pick a day to celebrate it! Is it one day, or is it a whole week? It’s entirely up to you!

8. Make A “How To Celebrate” Guide

Until your new holiday becomes a global phenomenon with years of tradition,  you’ll likely have to tell people how to celebrate it. Make yourself a handy guide to explain your holiday to newcomers.

9. Invite Your Friends

Invite your friends and family to celebrate with you! Holidays are meant to bring people together in celebration!

Now that you have everything you need to make up your own holiday, let us know how yours comes out @CAMPSTORES on Instagram! Happy Everything Day!
