A lot is happening in June! First off, we have an entire month devoted to showing off our pride and on top of that is Juneteenth, where we take a moment to reflect on our past. With that in mind, we wanted this week's Top Toys to promote DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION, whether that’s based on sexuality, race, gender, or religion. We’ve curated a selection of toys that will expose your little ones to issues they may be dealing with themselves or maybe are interested in learning more about.

Dolls for All Kids

A child’s doll is something that they will hold dear. They will treat it as if it were their own child, which is why it’s nice for dolls to look just like the kids who are playing with them. Creatable World allows children to design their dolls that come in various hair colors and skin tones. Healthy Roots is a black-owned business that promotes beautiful natural hair. These dolls are perfect for any children to play with and love

Show Your Pride

Jonathan Van Ness

Pride Month is all about showing off everything unique and beautiful about you! We have so many great toys for kids who want to celebrate. (Or for anyone who just loves rainbows!) From a Rainbow Bagel kit to some great puzzles and baby jumpers, there is so much you can do to show your pride!

Support Black-Owned Businesses

Darlyng & Co.

It’s always nice when the toys we play with don’t just promote diversity but completely embody it. Small black-owned businesses make these toys, so by purchasing them, you’re empowering various creators. Entrepreneur Chantel Calloway invented the “hip hop board game” Rhyme Antics to promote literacy. Meanwhile, Darlyng & Co. was started by a mom and dad team, Carl and Tara Darnley, to create toys that parents wouldn't need to worry about around their newborns.

Learn About History

Little People, BIG DREAMS

The Little People, BIG DREAMS series of books shows us that any typical kid can grow up to be extraordinary. With beautiful art that changes for each character and engaging summaries of the lives of significant figures, these are perfect intros to diverse histories. There’s plenty to choose from for every interest!

Anti racist 1400x700

Penguin Random House

The stories we read to our kids can impact their lives for years. That’s why we curated this selection of books that will introduce them to concepts like equality, tolerance, and anti-racism. Exposing them to these more profound ideas at a young age is incredible for their development and will help nurture empathy and compassion in them.
